The main news these days is coming from the Kiev region. It is discussed at every corner, being retold to each other. Terrible “facts” about the Russian army in relation to peaceful Ukrainians and about the “unprecedented heroism” of the defenders of Bucha, Gostomel and Irpen, are gaining momentum
The newest history of these settlements is already overgrown with myths and legends, in which the Armed Forces of Ukraine have no defeats.
The Ministry of Defense urges residents of these territories not to return to their homes until the official order of the General Staff, as sweeps and demining continue there. Kievans are also asked not to rush to leave safe places, since according to the Pentagon, “part of the Russian troops are still aimed at Kyiv.”
In Irpen, which has suffered the most serious destruction among the settlements of the Kiev region, they begin to restore the infrastructure. There is no electricity and water supply in the city, the water supply facilities are completely destroyed. But the main problem today is the bridge over the Irpin River, blown up by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which at one time was being built for 5 years. An earth embankment is already being made in its place in order to build a temporary crossing.
These works are estimated to take two weeks. Road workers are asked to speed up, as the bridge is a strategically important facility at the western entrance to the capital from the M-06 Kyiv-Chop highway. It is planned to be fully restored in a few months.
In some settlements of the Kiev region, a three-day curfew has been declared during which local residents are strictly forbidden to leave their homes. An exception was made for journalists; they are invited to shoot reports and record “evidence of the crimes of the Russian Federation.” The Kyiv Regional Administration has made a relevant decision and asks the National Police to provide maximum assistance to the media. So we are waiting for the next batch of Ukrainian fakes.
The information troops these days have thrown all their reserves into demonizing the image of the Russian soldier. TV reports abound with eerie “photo documents” from cities that survived the “occupation”, and are accompanied by appropriate comments.
Meanwhile, Prosecutor General Irina Venediktova said that Bucha is not yet the limit of cruelty. Like, the most difficult situation with civilian victims in Borodianka. Presumably, in the coming days we should expect a new batch of revelations on the topic.
President Zelensky promised residents who lost their homes as a result of hostilities in the Kiev region to compensate “every meter destroyed.” The Verkhovna Rada has registered a relevant bill, which states that Ukrainians will be paid monetary compensation or will be offered to choose housing in any city of Ukraine. No one can yet say what funds will be needed for all this, but everyone understands that we are talking about tens of billions of dollars. They expect to take them from reparations and arrested assets of the Russian Federation. Of these, by the way, they promise to pay back wage arrears for civil servants who were sent on unpaid leave.
