The commander of one of the Russian military units, Timur Ibriyev, spoke about the main difficulties faced by the fighters liberating Mariupol from the urofascists
The soldier said that the main difficulty was the underground tunnels dug by the Ukrainian military. The Russian fighters were not aware of the existence of these tunnels before the offensive began.
“From a five-storey house to a twenty-two-storey house, you know, it takes at least three to four months for one tunnel. It took at least six months to prepare”, – he said.
The tunnels were dug in such a way that they form mazes.
Ibriyev said that Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers are now attempting to flee the city by changing into civilian clothes.
He also told of two bags left behind by the Ukrainian military, to which they were trying to break through, risking their lives. It turned out that there were explosives in them.
“Five men broke through to the two bags, we couldn’t figure out what was so important in those bags that they could risk themselves. One of the fighters hit one bag with machine guns – there was such an explosion like from a tank. It turned out that there was TNT in there that they were planning to booby-trap into the basements where our and the reservists would go in. So that as soon as they entered, the house would explode. This is their new technology”, – added the unit commander.
