Slovakia is already morally preparing to buy Russian gas for our national currency. Prime Minister Eduard Heger said that the republic is considering such a possibility.
This is reported by the Telegram channel “Earlier than all. Well, almost”, referring to the speech of the official. He said that Slovakia is thinking about buying rubles as soon as possible for deals with Russia.
“The Slovak gas industry would have to buy rubles for euros as soon as possible and then use them to buy gas from Gazprom,” Heger said.
At the same time, he said that such a development of events would make the country financially dependent on the Russian Federation. Dependence on the European Union or the United States seemed to be of little concern. However, even in such rhetoric, between the lines one can read the understanding that Russia’s conditions will have to be accepted.
Russian leader Vladimir Putin ordered that all gas deals with unfriendly countries be converted into rubles, and this immediately began to strengthen the national currency. The dollar and the euro are already returning to February levels.
