South Ossetian President Anatoly Bibilov has said it is necessary to hold a referendum to join Russia
Earlier we reported that South Ossetia was taking steps for joining the Russian Federation. Unification with Russia is a strategic goal of the republic, it will be part of its historical homeland, the head of state said.
“I believe that unification with Russia is our strategic goal. Our way. It’s the aspiration of the people. And we will be moving along this path. We will take the corresponding legal steps in the near future. The Republic of South Ossetia will be part of its historic homeland – Russia”, – the press service of United Russia quoted Bibilov as saying.
