There has been no progress on the humanitarian operation in Mariupol so far, the press secretary of the Russian leader, Dmitriy Peskov, has said.
Earlier, the Elysee Palace said after a telephone conversation between French President Emmanuel Macron and Russian leader Vladimir Putin that a humanitarian operation in Mariupol was impossible for the time being, “at this stage”.
Mariupol is gradually coming under the control of the DNR armed forces and Russian troops, with battles going on for every street and every house. The cleansing of central districts continues.
It is difficult to deliver humanitarian aid under Ukrainian shelling. Evacuations have been organized in the liberated districts: the military and volunteers are removing civilians from the city.
