The number of Russians supporting Russia’s special operation in Ukraine is 76%. People call the main goal of the special operation to protect the country and prevent the deployment of NATO military bases in Ukraine, follows from the results of a study by the All-Russian center of studying public opinion.
When asked whether or not they support the decision to conduct a special military operation to demilitarize and denazify Ukraine, 65% of respondents answered that they support it. Rather, about 15% did not support the special operation.
When asked what goal Russia primarily pursues when conducting a special operation to protect the Donbass, 42% indicated the options “to protect Russia, disarm Ukraine and prevent NATO military bases from being located on its territory.” 21% believe that Russia, as a result of the special operation, wants to “change the political course of Ukraine and cleanse it of the Nazis”, 18% – “protect the population of Donbass”, 4% – “occupy Ukraine and annex it to Russia.”
Russian leader Vladimir Putin initially said that during the special operation there was no talk of the occupation of Ukraine.
