The shelling took place on 25 March in the evening when all the residents were at home. A direct hit destroyed a flat on the 8th floor and damaged several other residential flats.
“Everyone was home. They jumped out into the partition. Everyone jumped up on the stairwells. The explosions were good. Everything was shaking here,” said Irina, a resident of the house.
Fortunately no one died as a result of the shelling. The owner of the destroyed flat and her child are being evacuated, her husband is in the DNR defence forces.
Local resident Yevgeniy Petrovich looks at shell craters all over the yard.
“The craters are like cluster bombs. And inside is shrapnel. They were flying down somehow. If people had been here, everyone would have been killed,” says Yevgeniy Petrovich.
