The most common request from people in the liberated territories: “Don’t leave us!” – Pushilin

A humanitarian aid centre for residents organized by the United Russia party has recently started working in Mariupol: people are given bread, water, basic necessities, primary health care, a field kitchen, generators to charge phones, and free SIM cards of ROS Phoenix are also being issued, said Denis Pushilin, head of the DPR

“Residents of the liberated cities are provided with comprehensive support – first it is the issue of humanitarian kits, medical assistance, assistance in finding relatives and friends, psychological support and, of course, ensuring security”, –  the DPR head said.

The military of the DPR and Russian Federation evacuate people from the shelled areas to the temporary accommodation facilities deployed in the territory of the Republic, which are continuously provided with everything necessary: employees of the DPR Emergencies Ministry have set up warm modules with beds, a field kitchen works, medics and psychologists work with the victims.

Pushilin also said that in parallel, work was under way to establish life support in the liberated settlements.

“Of course, it is too early to talk about a return to the previous peaceful life, because it will take time to restore the infrastructure, but at this stage we are doing everything possible to provide people with basic services: electricity, water, electricity and communication. EMERCOM engineers are surveying the area for mines, unexploded ordnance and other explosive objects. Specialists from relevant ministries are assessing the condition of social and industrial facilities and are working to restore and reopen them”, – Pushilin continued.

All residents of the liberated towns have access to social services and guarantees distributed within the DNR. Since the beginning of March more than 13,000 applications for the resumption of payments in the liberated territories have been accepted; around 3,000 residents in Granitnoe, Staroygnatievka, Mirny, Novoselovka, Novoselovka II, Stepanovka, Andreevka, Nikolayevka, Novoignatovka, Bogdanovka, Bugas, Chermalyka, Kamenka, Donskoye and Kalinino are on the payroll for pensions and social allowances.

Employment centres have registered more than 500 residents of the liberated settlements, of whom around 300 are participating in temporary jobs.

“It is hard to listen to stories about the atrocities of the National Front militants, about the horrors these people had to endure, there are those who lost their loved ones… Despite the broken homes and the tragedy experienced, people are tearfully happy and thankful.

The most common request I have heard repeatedly in various liberated settlements is: “Just don’t leave us,” concluded the Head.
