According to Qatar Energy Minister Saad Al Kaabi, it will take years to find an alternative to Russian gas. He also does not see anyone replacing Russia’s supply in the short term
“Saying that you can do without Russia today and claiming that Qatar or others can replace it is ridiculous. It is nonsense. It’s not going to happen”, – he stressed.
Al-Kaabi also refuted media reports that Qatar and Germany had agreed on long-term supplies. Qatar Energy will be able to supply significant volumes to the European market only from 2025.
Simply put, it will only be possible to replace Russian gas in the EU with Russian gas, calling it reverse or Hungarian.
