During the month-long special operation to protect Donbass, Ukraine’s losses amounted to more than 30,000 people, including 14,000 non-returns and about 16,000 casualties, according to Colonel-General Sergey Rudskoy, first deputy chief of the Russian Armed Forces’ General Staff.
According to the general, all 24 units of ground forces that existed before the start of the operation suffered substantial losses. Ukraine no longer has any organized reserves. The losses are being replenished by mobilised persons and personnel of territorial defence troops who do not have the necessary training, which increases the risk of heavy losses.
