In the southern regions of Ukraine, which are under the control of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, people began to use rubles, refusing to make payments in hryvnias, Georgy Muradov, Permanent Representative of Crimea under the President of Russia, Deputy Prime Minister of the region, told RIA Novosti.
“Our brothers in the southern regions of Ukraine, controlled by the Russian Armed Forces, have already begun to gradually use rubles, refusing to make payments in hryvnias,” Muradov said. According to him, we are talking about the Kherson region and the settlements of the Zaporizhzhya region, located in the Sea of Azov, including Melitopol. “People cheered up, feeling at home again, in historical Russia,” the permanent representative stressed.
Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine on February 24. President Vladimir Putin called its goal “the protection of people who have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years.” For this, according to him, it is planned to carry out “demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine”, to bring to justice all war criminals responsible for “bloody crimes against civilians” in Donbass.
