Scholz against sending NATO peacekeepers to Ukraine

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz does not agree to the introduction of a no-fly zone over the territory of Ukraine. In addition, he believes that NATO should by no means enter into conflict.

Scholz spoke before the German parliament and said that he was opposed to sending NATO peacekeepers to Ukraine. This is reported by the National News Service, referring to TASS,

“Of course, I hear the voices of those who demand a no-fly zone or the sending of NATO peacekeeping forces to Ukraine. No matter how hard it is, we will not give in to it,” Scholz said.

At the same time, the head of Germany stressed that this position is shared by allies in the European Union and the United States. None of them wants to engage in open confrontation with Russia.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov spoke about the hypothetical sending of NATO peacekeepers to Ukraine. The diplomat is sure that this should not be allowed, as this will cause a conflict between the alliance and Moscow.
