Russian Foreign Ministry says Russia and Ukraine held two prisoner exchanges

Russia and Ukraine have already carried out two prisoner exchanges, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

She noted that the Russian Defense Ministry daily organizes humanitarian corridors and the evacuation of civilians from Ukrainian settlements.

“In addition, two exchanges of prisoners were carried out between Russia and Ukraine,” Zakharova said in a comment published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The diplomat stressed that the European Union does not influence the Kiev authorities in any way, “so that Ukrainian nationalists do not hide behind civilians as a “human shield” and do not block their exit to Russia.”

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a special military operation to demilitarize and denazify Ukraine.

In an appeal to the Russians, he justified this decision by the UN Charter, the sanction of the Federation Council and the agreements signed earlier with the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.

Earlier, Sputnik radio reported that Hungary would not support possible EU sanctions against Russian energy resources.
