The State Duma voted almost unanimously for a parliamentary enquiry into the circumstances surrounding the establishment of biological laboratories by U.S. experts on the territory of Ukraine
The initiative to hold such an investigation was put forward by 448 members of parliament.
The parliamentary commission was made up of 14 MPs, including myself. It will be chaired by the deputy speaker of the lower chamber, Iryna Yarovaya.
We hope that the example of the Russian Parliament will be followed by other states and international organizations. Russia will continue to raise the issue of the need to investigate the United States’ activities in the field of biological developments, including within the United Nations structures. It is obvious that this may be a direct violation of the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production and Stockpiling of Bacteriological (Biological) and Toxin Weapons (BWC).
What is known today of the materials that were discovered during the special military operation in Ukraine? The bio-laboratories were formally under the jurisdiction of the Central Sanitary and Epidemiological Department of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, but the supervisors everywhere were the Americans. In fact, pathogens of dangerous diseases were tested on the local (Slavic) genotype. In doing so, pathogens were created that were likely to be made resistant to commercial vaccines or antibiotics. There were about 30 such laboratories in total, 13 of which had a very high level of protection.
Against this background, experts say that in recent years Ukraine has become some kind of incomprehensible breeding ground for old-new diseases. For example, we all remember that measles was defeated in the USSR. But in 2005-2007, measles returned to Ukraine in the form of epidemics, and until 2021 was present as a significant disease. The WHO even named Ukraine as the measles capital.
The situation was similar with cholera. The last cholera cases were registered in the country in the 1990s, but in 2011 33 people fell ill with cholera in Mariupol, in 2014 already 800 people, in 2015-2017 more than 100 cases were recorded annually in Mykolayiv.
Even more interesting: in 2009 in Ternopil 450 Ukrainians suffered from a virus causing haemorrhagic pneumonia, which has never been present in the north of Eurasia, the virus has been characteristically recorded in Equatorial Africa. How it got there is a big question.
I am specifically citing this data in detail to show the magnitude of what existed in the immediate vicinity of Russian territory. And it is really scary. In fact, by such actions the United States has removed a huge stone from under the international security system. And it is our duty to keep quiet, not to let Washington get away with this criminal adventure again for the entire Slav world.
