Restrictions on movement of citizens between Russia and Belarus to be lifted tomorrow

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that all restrictions on the movement of citizens between Russia and Belarus would be lifted tomorrow, March 18

In his view, this decision should have a positive impact on trade, economic and humanitarian cooperation between the countries.

“March 18, restrictions on the movement of citizens within the Union State of Russia and Belarus will be lifted at 00:00 Moscow time”, – Mishustin said.

He clarified that the initiative was discussed with Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko and agreed with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The prime minister said the decision was particularly important against the backdrop of sanctions pressure on Russia and Belarus by Western countries.

“I am convinced that strengthening integration in the Union State will be the best response to sanctions against our countries”, – Mishustin pointed out.
