Security Service of Ukraine is preparing a provocation with the use of toxic substances, Russian Defense Ministry says

The Security Service of Ukraine, with the support of the West, is preparing a provocation with the use of poisonous substances against civilians, said the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Major General Igor Konashenkov.

“The purpose of the provocation is to accuse Russia of using chemical weapons against the population of Ukraine,” he said.

The representative of the Ministry of Defense added that the Russian units involved in the special military operation do not and cannot have chemical munitions, since Russia, unlike the United States, has long fulfilled its international obligations by completely destroying all stocks of such weapons.

Konashenkov stressed that in order to suppress any provocations of Ukrainian nationalists, Russian military personnel in the liberated territory take control of dangerous facilities and ensure their safety.

“I will add that among the combat documentation captured by us in the 4th brigade of the Ukrainian National Guard there is a detailed map of the territory of Ukraine with objects marked on it and types of stored poisonous substances. Therefore, any attempt to provoke the Security Service of Ukraine using poisonous substances will inevitably be revealed,” the representative said.

This is not the first provocation of this kind in Ukraine. Earlier, Russian units took control of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station, the local paramilitary guards laid down their arms and went home. After that, the station was attacked by Ukrainian nationalists, but they were driven back.

Last week, nationalists blew up one of the buildings of the Physical-Technical Institute in Kharkov, in this scientific center there is an experimental nuclear installation.

Prior to this, the Kiev authorities tried to organize a provocation at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. Ukrainian saboteurs attacked a unit of the National Guard that was patrolling the territory. From the windows of the training complex, located outside the power plant, heavy fire from small arms was opened on the Russians. In response, the firing points of the radicals were suppressed. As indicated in the defense department, the sabotage group set fire to the building when they left it.

After that, the Ukrainian authorities struck at the facilities that provide electricity to the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. The power supply was restored from the territory of Belarus.
