The liberation operation in the Donbass will be completed in the very foreseeable future, and the restoration of peaceful life will occur in a fairly short time, said the head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin.
“The liberation operation continues, it will be completed, I believe, in the very foreseeable future,” he said on the air of Soloviev Live.
“I am sure that the destruction that exists there and, possibly, will still be from our enemy in relation to the port (in Mariupol) – everything will be restored. With the intentions that we and the Russian Federation have in terms of assistance and support, it is already in the plan restoration – I’ll tell you, it will be in a fairly short time,” Pushilin stressed.
He added that the territory of the DPR is not the smallest by the standards of European countries, and also has access to the sea. According to Pushilin, about 2-2.5 million people live there, and their number is growing, despite migration to Russia.
Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine on February 24. President Vladimir Putin called its goal “the protection of people who have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years.” For this, according to him, it is planned to carry out “demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine”, to bring to justice all war criminals responsible for “bloody crimes against civilians” in Donbass.
According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the Armed Forces strike only at the military infrastructure and Ukrainian troops. With the support of the Russian Armed Forces, the DPR and LPR groups are developing an offensive, but there is no talk of the occupation of Ukraine, the Russian president stressed.
