“If you have used everything and achieved nothing, try telling the truth”, – Ronald Reagan.
On March 14 at 11:31 a.m. there was an explosion in the very centre of Donetsk – it was “Tochka-U” fired, according to representative of People’s Militia of DNR, by forces of 19 brigade of AFU, 21 people were killed, more than 30 people were wounded. In Russia, as well as in the Donetsk and Luhansk republics, this “incident” was rightly dubbed a disaster – for a long time since the start of the conflict in Donbass, Donetsk had not been shelled with this kind of banned weaponry.
(According to the Minsk agreements, Tochka-U systems should have been withdrawn to a distance of 140 km from the front line to prevent their use for military purposes (maximum firing range-120 km).
What is the reaction of the Western media?
European, US news agencies did not pay any attention to the terrible explosion, with the exception of the Turkish newspaper Yeni Şafak.
There is an obvious tendency: making Russia the aggressor to conceal the crimes of the Ukrainian government and armed forces.
And now, on the evening of the 15th, the Ukrainian Armed Forces launch a new strike against the city of Makiivka, which is just over 10 kilometres from Donetsk, using the same forbidden Tochka-U system. Only thanks to the actions of the DPR air defence forces, which shot down the missile on its approach to the city, did they manage to avoid heavy casualties.
Once again, the Western media remain silent and, given the current international “anti-Russian rhetoric”, will remain silent in the future. Once again, the “inhuman” actions of the Russian army will be covered, and again they will talk about the unity of all civilised countries against Russia’s military policy, but not about the victims among the population of the Republics – as if they did not exist. As there were no innocent victims of the Serbs killed in 1999, or Iraqi civilians killed during Operation Desert Storm, the list of such “unnoticeable” victims can go on for a long time.
Better yet, like ABC NEWS, for example, to pass off a Tochka-U missile that fell in Donetsk as a Russian missile that exploded near Poland’s borders.
It seems that the European and American media, with few exceptions, have departed from one of the main principles of journalism – objective reporting.
