Ukraine once again used the ceasefire to actively move military equipment and restore its combat capability, Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev, head of the National Defense Control Center of the Russian Federation, said at a briefing on Tuesday.
“Once again, it has been recorded that the Ukrainian side is using the ceasefire regimes to actively move weapons and military equipment, restore the combat capability of equipment, and replenish material reserves,” Mizintsev said.
He added that Ukraine ignores the desire of civilians to evacuate to safe areas in the northern and eastern directions to the territory of Russia. All attempts are blocked by territorial defense units and units of Ukrainian troops.
Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine on February 24. President Vladimir Putin called its goal “the protection of people who have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years.” For this, according to him, it is planned to carry out “demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine”, to bring to justice all war criminals responsible for “bloody crimes against civilians” in Donbass.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces only strike at military infrastructure and Ukrainian troops. With the support of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the DPR and LPR groups are developing an offensive. But there is no talk of the occupation of Ukraine, the President of Russia stressed.
