Crimea and Donbass now linked by land corridor

Thanks to a special operation in Ukraine, it has been possible to link Crimea and Donbas by an overland corridor, the permanent representative of the Republic of Crimea to the Russian president and deputy prime minister of the Crimean government, Georgy Muradov, has said

“Crimea and Donbass are now connected by a land corridor through the territory of Ukraine. A motor road from Crimea to Mariupol has been taken under control”, –  Muradov said.

He noted that while battles with Ukrainian nationalists are ongoing, the highway could be a help in supplying humanitarian goods to the population of the liberated areas of the DPR.

“This road will become an important highway for Crimea, connecting the peninsula with Mariupol – the metallurgical centre of the Azov region – and the industrial region of Donbas”, – the permanent representative stressed.

In his opinion, one should already think about cooperation in transportation of cargoes through the seaports of Crimea and the key ports of the Azov Sea – Mariupol and Berdyansk, as this is a guarantee of future development of the whole region.
