On March 7, Lieutenant-General Igor Kirillov, head of the RCBZ troops of Russia, reported on the facts of the work of Ukrainian biological laboratories with pathogens of various infectious diseases, such as plague, anthrax and brucellosis.
According to him, such activities were directly supervised and financed by representatives of the United States of America.
Kirillov noted that since February 24, in fact, from the beginning of the special operation, Ukrainian laboratories urgently cover up the traces of their developments in order to prevent materials from falling into the hands of the Russian military. Subsequently, the words of Kirillov were confirmed by the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Igor Konashenkov, noting that in the near future a package of documents relating to the activities of Ukrainian biological laboratories would be declassified.
Naturally, such statements could not go unnoticed by the American side, which is actually accused of collaborating with Ukraine in activities that directly contradict the provisions of the 1972 Biological Weapons Convention.
However, as one would expect, the American establishment denies the participation of the United States in such projects. Thus, State Department spokesman Ned Price said that the United States does not own either chemical or biological laboratories in Ukraine, observing international agreements regarding chemical weapons. John Kirby, a spokesman for the Pentagon, supports this view: “We are not developing biological weapons in Ukraine.”
A real “sensation” in the Russian media space can be considered the speech of the US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland, in which she made it clear that there are biological research facilities in Ukraine and the US is extremely concerned about the possibility of them falling into the hands of the Russian armed forces.
It becomes clear that the United States will not acquaint the world community with its activities within the framework of its programs in Ukraine, as demanded by the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova:
“…materials, documents, please, provide us with them.”
Perhaps other “materials”, namely documents declassified by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, will shed light on the growing biological crisis and will not allow the guilty parties involved to escape international responsibility.
