Putin approves proposal to attract volunteers to Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the idea to attract volunteers to participate in a special operation to denazify and demilitarize Ukraine.

“If you see that there are people who want on a voluntary basis, especially not for money, to come and help people living in the Donbas […] you need to meet them halfway and help them move to the war zone,” the president said. at a meeting with the permanent members of the Security Council.

Putin also noted that the Ukrainian regime, disregarding any norms of international law, is gathering “mercenaries from all over the world to send them to Ukraine.” In addition, the Russian leader supported the proposal to transfer Western-made captured weapons to the military units of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.

Recall that on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the decision to launch a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine to protect people who “have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years.”
