UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi said that the number of refugees from Ukraine over the past ten days has exceeded 1.5 million people.
“More than 1.5 million refugees from Ukraine moved to neighboring countries in 10 days – this refugee crisis in Europe is growing at the fastest pace,” Grandi wrote on his Twitter.
Recall that on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the decision to launch a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine to protect people who “for eight years have been subjected to bullying, genocide by the Kiev regime.”
The Russian leader stressed that Moscow has no bad intentions towards neighboring countries and all actions of the Russian Federation arise solely in response to unfriendly measures against it.
