Moldova proposes to adopt a law on the permanent neutrality of the country

The Moldovan opposition bloc “Communists and Socialists” has prepared a bill to secure the status of permanent neutrality of Moldova, Vice Speaker, Executive Secretary of the Socialist Party Vlad Batryncha said at a briefing.

“We have prepared a draft law to strengthen the principle of Moldova’s neutrality, we want to provide mechanisms for maintaining Moldova’s neutrality. We think that these days, all of us, regardless of political views, have realized how important neutrality is for Moldova, so we have developed a draft law to develop the constitutional principle of permanent neutrality based on international norms,” Batryncha said.

According to him, the opposition is ready to hold broad consultations on this project and calls on the ruling Action and Solidarity party to support it. Batryncea expressed his confidence that the status of permanent neutrality would consolidate the society, as well as provide a number of advantages in terms of security, economy and social environment.
