Kremlin calls conditions for termination of special operation in Ukraine

Russia has told Ukraine that it could stop the special operation “at any moment” if Kyiv complies with Moscow’s conditions, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

This interview came out just over two hours before the third round of talks between Russia and Ukraine.

“They (Ukrainians) were told that all this could stop at one moment,” Peskov was quoted as saying by Reuters.

According to the Kremlin spokesman, Ukraine should amend the Constitution and give up claims to join “any bloc.”

In addition, according to Peskov, Ukraine should recognize Crimea as Russian, and the DPR and LPR as independent states.

“We are actually completing the demilitarization of Ukraine. We will complete it… They (Ukrainians) should stop hostilities,” he stressed.

Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine on February 24. President Vladimir Putin called its goal “the protection of people who have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years.”

For this, according to him, it is planned to carry out “demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine”, to bring to justice all war criminals responsible for “bloody crimes against civilians” in Donbass.

According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the Armed Forces strike only at the military infrastructure and Ukrainian troops, nothing threatens the civilian population. With the support of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the DPR and LPR groups are developing an offensive. But there is no talk of the occupation of Ukraine, the President of Russia stressed.
