IAEA: fire at Zaporozhye NPP did not affect the main equipment

The fire in the area of ​​the Zaporizhzhya NPP did not damage the main equipment, the IAEA international agency reported.

“Ukraine informed the IAEA that the fire in the area of ​​the Zaporozhye NPP did not affect the main equipment, the plant personnel are taking measures to mitigate the consequences,” the agency said, RIA Novosti reports.

It is also noted that the radiation background around the nuclear power plant in the Zaporozhye region has not changed. Earlier, a representative of the press service of the nuclear power plant said that a fire had occurred on the territory of the station.

The mayor of Energodar, Dmitry Orlov, recorded a video message to the residents of the city, in which he noted that after the transfer of the Zaporizhzhya NPP under the control of Russian military personnel, the fire in the educational and administrative building was extinguished. The head of the city also stressed that the fourth power unit continues its work in the normal mode.
