Russia closes airspace to airlines from Bulgaria, Poland and the Czech Republic

The Federal Air Transport Agency informs that Russia has closed the airspace for the airlines of Bulgaria, Poland and the Czech Republic. Flights from these countries can be carried out only with a special permit issued by Rosaviatsiya or the Russian Foreign Ministry

“Due to unfriendly decisions of the aviation authorities of Bulgaria, Poland and the Czech Republic, restrictions are introduced from February 26, 2022 at 15:00 Moscow time for air carriers of these countries and/or registered in them to perform flights to locations in Russia, including transit flights through the airspace of the country”, – the statement said.

This decision was taken as a response to the ban on all civil flights to/from the territory of the said states operated by Russian air carriers
