Russian Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzia, speaking at a meeting of the Security Council, has denied statements by Western diplomats that civilians are allegedly killed by the Russian military in Ukraine
“I cannot but note that in a propaganda frenzy, the media very often use pictures from Donbas, passing them off as consequences of the so-called ‘Russian aggression’ in Ukraine,” Nebenzia said.
The permanent representative noted that such fakes now abound on the Internet and Telegram channels. There are also videos on the Internet about “Russian strikes on peaceful neighbourhoods” which were filmed in other regions of the world and have nothing to do with Ukraine.
Nebenzia addressed the French postpresident.
“The French Permanent Representative said that civilians are now being killed in Ukraine – this is not true. Russian troops are not bombing Ukrainian cities. And there is no credible confirmation of civilian deaths,” the Russian permanent representative stressed.
