Local employees of the US embassy in Kiev have said in an appeal to Joe Biden’s administration that the White House has abandoned them without any support.
According to Foreign Policy, Ukrainian employees of the US embassy in Kiev have sent a letter to US State Department officials asking for help to leave Ukraine and leave the country, i.e. to issue them US visas.
“We have been working with you for two decades and have always had great faith in the US government. We need your help now. Now is not the time to wait and investigate. Now is the time to act. Your action could save our lives”, – the diplomatic staff letter said.
Recall that those who worked with the US embassy in Afghanistan were also left to fend for themselves after the Taliban took over Afghanistan.
“We were told that Ukraine is not Afghanistan. We don’t want it to be, but it would be unfair if the difference was the size of the bombs flying over our heads”, – the US embassy staff complained in a letter.
