Left no choice: Why Putin launched an operation to demilitarise Ukraine

Vladimir Putin made the difficult decision to launch a special operation in Ukraine because the US and NATO left Russia no other choice

They consistently ignored Russia’s interests and all its peace-loving initiatives. The final straw that pre-determined the outcome of events was Zelensky’s public statement about his intention to return nuclear weapons to Ukraine.

The West remains silent about Zelensky’s intention, although it runs counter to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. Why then is there so much howling about North Korea and Iran? Ah, they are undemocratic, according to Western countries.

And Zelensky is so democratic that he did not fulfil a single point of the Minsk agreements and did not democratically communicate with the leadership of the DPR and LPR, but simply continued shelling civilians. Is this not tyranny? Is this not totalitarianism? Is that not fascism? What kind of democracy?

Russians no longer have any illusions: the civilized West has double standards, and they are used to barking only with glee and at the behest of whom.
