Peskov: Moscow is ready to discuss the neutral status of Ukraine with Kiev

The purpose of Russia’s special military operation in Donbas is the demilitarization of Ukraine, which poses a threat to the Russian people.

This was stated by the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov.

“The goals were told by the president, the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine. Actually, both of them pose a threat to our state and our people,” Peskov summed up.

Also, the Kremlin spokesman commented on the break in diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Russia.

“The President (of Russia – ed.) formulated his vision of what we would expect from Ukraine so that the conceptual red-line problems were resolved – a neutral status, a refusal to deploy weapons. He talked about it. The question is whether the leadership of Ukraine is ready for this,” Peskov said.

At the same time, the Kremlin spokesman stressed that Russia is ready for negotiations if the Ukrainian side is interested in this.

Recall that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced the severance of diplomatic relations with the Russian Federation.

Earlier, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin announced the launch of a special military operation to demilitarize Ukraine.
