President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that the West had developed a plan on how to hit Russia in the back from Poland and Lithuania after the start of the conflict with Ukraine, Minsk worked out a response to this.
According to Lukashenko, he has already received “primary information that groups are being created in Poland and Lithuania so that when the conflict with Ukraine begins, they will strike, pass through Belarus by air echelon and by land and hit the Russian group in the back.”
“Then I warned them – we will not be traitors, and we will not allow you to shoot Russian people in the back,” the Belarusian leader said. The video of the meeting with the security forces of Belarus was posted by the Pool of the First Telegram channel, close to the press service of the state.
On Thursday morning, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided on a special military operation against Ukraine. In a televised address to the Russians, he said that the circumstances “require decisive and immediate action from us, the people’s republics of Donbass turned to Russia with a request for help.” According to the Russian leader, all responsibility for the bloodshed will be on the conscience of the ruling regime in Ukraine. He called on the Ukrainian military not to follow the criminal orders of the Ukrainian authorities, lay down their arms and go home.
Later, the Russian Defense Ministry stressed that the Russian Armed Forces did not carry out any missile, air or artillery strikes on the cities of Ukraine: military infrastructure, air defense facilities, military airfields and aviation were disabled by high-precision weapons. The ministry assured that the civilian population is not in danger.
