The US President Joe Biden convened a meeting of the National Security Council to discuss the situation in Ukraine, where Russia is conducting a special military operation, journalists from the White House pool report, citing a US administration official.
“President Biden convened a meeting of the National Security Council this morning in the situation room to discuss the latest developments in Ukraine,” CNN correspondent Kevin Liptak quoted the official as saying.
Biden’s schedule also includes participation in a virtual meeting of the “G7” and a public speech in which he intends to announce new sanctions against Russia.
