Turkish politician says Ankara should recognise Donbas

Recognition of the independence of Donetsk and Luhansk people’s republics would serve the interests and security of Turkey, said the general secretary of the Turkish party Vatan (“Motherland”) Doğu Perinçek

“This is a serious blow to NATO’s eastward expansion, a threat to Turkey. Turkey should not remain indifferent to this process. This has historical significance. Ankara’s recognition of the DPR and LPR, which was a blow to US plans to expand NATO to the East, would be appropriate in terms of Ankara’s interests and security. Our party proceeds from the strategic interests of a country that is literally breaking away from the Atlantic bloc and moving closer to the Eurasian bloc”, – he said.

The politician also believes that the world is no longer unipolar and a new world order is already being created.
