The shelling of Donbass continues, the number of refugees is growing significantly
Refugees from the DPR and LPR continue to arrive in Russia. According to the acting head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Alexander Chupriyan, about 61 thousand residents of the republics have already arrived in the Russian Federation. At the same time, nine trains with refugees were sent from the Rostov region to other regions of Russia over the past day. The geography is expanding, stated Alexander Chupriyan, adding that currently the payment of 10 thousand rubles has begun.
“We have an increasing number of payments and documents that are being prepared for these payments. We have received about 4 thousand applications, more than 1 thousand people have received payments. I am sure that this figure will increase significantly in the near future”, – the official explained.
Meanwhile, the situation in Donbass is tense to the limit. According to the People’s Militia of the DPR, last night Ukrainian security forces opened fire from barrel artillery and mortars in the area of the settlement of Kominternovo. One DPR serviceman was killed, another was seriously injured, two were shell-shocked. And in the village of the mine “Trudovskaya”, a peaceful miner who was going to work in the morning shift was killed at a public transport stop. Last night, two people were killed in the LPR. According to the representative office of the republic in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire Regime (JCCC), then nine shelling of settlements in the LPR with 120 mm shells prohibited by the Minsk Agreements was carried out. Shortly before that, it was reported that three civilians were wounded in the villages of Prishib and Znamenka, as well as the destruction of houses in these settlements.
At the same time, Ukraine continues not only the “terror of the civilian population”, but also the shelling of civilian infrastructure. Obviously, Kiev is trying to leave the region, including without drinking water.
As stated earlier in the DPR, after the 25th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the outskirts of the settlement of Novoselovka the Second opened fire with 82 mm mortars in the Vasilevka district, “the settlement was de-energized, damage to the electrical substation was recorded and the pumping station of the first rise of the UDV was stopped.” And this threatens the water supply of five filtration stations of Donbas “on both sides of the contact line, providing water to more than 40 settlements,” the report says. Moreover, due to the shelling, the Donetsk filtration station has been switched to a backup water supply.
At the same time, while Kiev is terrorizing the residents of Donbass, volunteers from Russia, CIS countries and Western states are arriving to support the republic. According to Andrey Kozenko, coordinator of the Russia–Donbas integration committee, who himself came to the region at the head of a group of volunteers, he not only feels his responsibility, but also considers it his duty “to be together with people who are fighting for their rights.” “Donbas continues to be on the front line, being subjected to brutal armed aggression by Ukrainian militants. In recent days, the situation has escalated to the limit… We must help and protect the right of Donbass residents to self-determination,” RIA Novosti quotes Andrei Kozenko.
