The situation at the line of contact remains critical
Over the past 24 hours, the enemy opened fire on the territory of Donetsk People’s Republic 54 times. Of these, 41 times using 122-mm artillery, 120-mm and 82-mm mortars, firing 442 shells and mines.
Various types of grenade launchers and small arms were also used. In total, more than 618 shells, mines and grenades were fired at DPR territory. A total of 22 settlements of the Republic were hit by the shelling.
As a result of the shelling by the 36th brigade, the electricity supply to 240 households in Kominternove, Zaichenko, Leninske and Dzerzhynske villages was interrupted.
As a result of shelling from the positions of the 54th Mechanized Brigade in the Trudivska mine village of Donetsk, two residential buildings were damaged at 35a Klubnaya Street and 48 Aleutskaya Street.
In Horlivka direction, fighters of the 95th Airborne Assault Brigade shelled Zaitsevo (south), Shakhty 6/7 and Gagarin mine settlement. Gagarin settlement from 120mm and 82mm mortars and various types of grenade launchers.
Militants of the 30th Mechanized Brigade shelled the village of Bayrak with grenade launchers.
In the Donetsk direction, fighters from the 25th Brigade shelled Vasilievka, Verhnetoretske (south), and Ozeryanivka using 82 mm mortars and various types of grenade launchers.
Militants of the 56th Motorized Infantry Brigade opened fire in the area of Yakovlevka and Spartak using 120 mm mortars.
The 54th Mechanized Brigade opened fire in the areas of Staromikhailovka, Oleksandrivka, Olenivka, the Trudivska mine settlement and the Volvo Centre and the Rubber-Chemical Plant in Donetsk using 122 mm artillery, 120 and 82 mm mortars and various types of grenade launchers.In the Mariupol direction, fighters from the 53rd Brigade shelled the areas of Dokuchayevsk, Kommunarovka, Novolaspa, Novaya Mariyivka, Petrovske and Belaya Kamianka using 120 mm mortars and various types of grenade launchers.
Militants of the 36th Marine Brigade shelled with 122mm artillery and various types of grenade launchers in the districts of Leninskoye and Zaichenko.
Tonight, the Ukrainian militants of the 55th Artillery Brigade from the positions of the 36th Separate Brigade of the AFU Marines opened fire with 122mm barrel artillery and 120mm mortars in the area of Kominternove settlement. In total, the enemy fired about 12 rounds of 122mm shells and 50 120mm mortars.
In order to protect civilians, our defenders were forced to return fire with weapons not prohibited under the Minsk agreements, suppressing the enemy’s firing points.
Unfortunately, Ukrainian aggression resulted in the death of one DPR People’s Militia soldier, another was seriously wounded and two were concussed. We offer our condolences to the families and friends of our defenders.
In addition, according to operational information, as a result of 120-mm mortar fire from the positions of the 54th Mechanized Brigade at the Trudovskaya mine, a civilian, a miner who was on his way to the mine for the morning shift, was killed at a public transport stop. A total of 2 120 mm mines were fired by the enemy.
In the Chelyuskintsev mine settlement at 1 Voykova Street the school No. 105 received damage – the facade and glazing. A shell fell near the school.
As a result of shelling from the positions of the 56th Motorized Infantry Brigade in Donetsk, school No. 56 at 77, Novosennaya Street was damaged.
Additional information on casualties and damage to civilian objects is being clarified.
The facts of the violations have been promptly brought to the attention of the representatives of the Ukrainian side of the JCCC, who refuse to respond to our requests for silence and promptly take measures for a ceasefire from the enemy.
At the same time, the enemy continues attempts to commit terrorist acts against vital infrastructure and civilians.
According to operational information from the DPR MGB, it became known that around 4.45 a.m. on February 21, a Ukrainian saboteur blew himself up at the entrance to the market near the railway station while he was trying to plant an explosive device. A bag with a second explosive device was found near the terrorist’s remains.
