The Governor of the Rostov region Vasily Golubev said that 143 temporary accommodation centers had been prepared in the region for residents of Donbass who were evacuated due to the aggravation of the situation.
“143 temporary accommodation points have been prepared, this process is ongoing,” Golubev said at a meeting with Acting Head of the Russian Emergencies Ministry Alexander Chupriyan, RIA Novosti reports.
According to the first vice-governor of the Rostov region Igor Guskov, temporary accommodation centers can accept about 13 thousand refugees from the Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republics.
As News Front previously reported, the leadership of the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics decided to temporarily evacuate citizens to Russia. First of all, the evacuation will affect women, children and the elderly. The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the DPR reported that as of the morning of February 19, more than six thousand residents were evacuated from the republic.
