Residents of the self-proclaimed Donetsk people’s republic have been evacuated to Russia’s Rostov Region due to rising tensions in the region, DPR head Denys Pushylin has said
“As of today, February 18, a mass, centralised departure of the population to the Russian Federation has been organised. The first to be evacuated are women, children and the elderly”, – Pushilin said in a video message to DPR citizens published on Friday.
He added that “according to an agreement with the Russian Federation, places for the accommodation of citizens are ready in the Rostov Region.” “The evacuees will be provided with everything they need,” Pushilin assured.
