The West continues to predict a “Russian invasion of Ukraine” despite the failure of its February 16 predictions
This was reported by Reuters, citing an unnamed senior intelligence official.
“I expect things to be really confusing and ambiguous in the next couple of weeks”, – the official said.
He said Western intelligence believes a military conflict is now more likely and there is no credible indication that de-escalation will happen. They believe Russia could attack Ukraine “without any warning”.
“We are in the peak period when the drills announced by the Russians are in the active phase”, – the unidentified official said.
Recall that on 16 February, an imaginary Russian invasion was expected in Kiev: the USSR anthem was played at night on the Maidan.
