Chinese users of the social network Sina Weibo actively commented on the news about the talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who discussed the situation around Ukraine, writes Regnum.
During the talks, Putin strongly denied accusations by Western politicians who claim that Russia is allegedly preparing to “attack” Ukrainian territory. The Russian leader also stressed that Moscow has not yet received a “substantive and constructive response” to earlier proposals on security guarantees.
According to some commentators, the West is trying to provoke “antipathy towards Russia and help NATO rise in public opinion.” Another netizen added that by regularly accusing the Russian Federation of preparing a mythical “plan to take over Ukraine,” Western countries are to some extent trying to justify the sanctions against Moscow.
“The best scenario for Ukraine is immediate accession to Russia”.
“Ukraine is really poor. After joining NATO, Russia will immediately trample it. If by that time the United States themselves do not trample. It would be better for her to hold on tight to Russia. As you know, distant water cannot extinguish a nearby fire”.
“Some people at this level want to provoke Chinese netizens’ antipathy towards Russia, help NATO rise in public opinion and justify their sanctions against Russia.”
