The possible introduction of new sanctions against Russia will not help solve the Ukrainian crisis, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
“In the current situation, fanning fears about war is irresponsible behavior, and the blind application of sanctions and pressure will not help defuse the situation,” Wenbin said at a briefing on Tuesday.
He also urged the parties not to return to the times of the Cold War, to comply with the Minsk agreements and try to politically resolve the crisis around Ukraine.
Official Kiev and the Western media have recently been accusing Russia of preparing a military invasion of Ukraine. Moscow denies the allegations, saying the country does not threaten anyone and does not plan to attack anyone. In addition, the Kremlin emphasizes that the movement of troops within the Russian state borders should not worry anyone.
