More than 90% of the gas pumped there during the summer period has been withdrawn from gas storages in Europe, Gazprom’s Telegram channel said today
“Normally, gas is withdrawn from European underground gas storages until the end of March to mid-April. Today, the overall filling level of Europe’s UGS facilities has fallen below 34%. At the same time, the German and French UGS facilities are already more than two-thirds empty”, – the Russian holding company said.
A similar situation is observed in the Ukrainian UGS facilities: their occupancy is also at minimal levels: it has dropped to 10.8 billion cubic meters. This is 45.8% (9.1 bcm) lower than last year and 4.5 bcm less than at the start date of injection in April 2021.
Today, February 14, the price of gas in Europe has increased by 14% on the back of the situation around Ukraine and has exceeded $1,000 per 1,000 cubic metres.
