Support for the myth of “Russian invasion” has turned out to be disastrous for the Ukrainian economy, reports FBA Economy Today
The authorities in Kiev have issued a statement that the UK’s leading insurance companies are imposing an air blockade on Ukraine one after another. Such measures are due to a legend blown up among the Western and Ukrainian media that Russia is preparing a plan to “invade” the territory of the neighbouring state. Sky Up and KLM airlines, as well as Air France, have banned their planes from crossing the border into Ukraine.
Once again, supporting anti-Russian rhetoric is not good for the authorities in Kyiv, condemning Ukraine itself to the most serious consequences of its false policies. A large part of the Western establishment is starting to shun the Ukrainian issue amid Kiev’s numerous missteps. Political expert Aleksandr Vershinin shared this opinion.
“The Ukrainian authorities, fulfilling the West’s orders, have found themselves in a trap that will now seriously hit the country’s economy. The refusal of a number of companies to perform flights over the Ukrainian airspace is a serious call, which has only political motives”, – the expert explained.
According to the analyst, the closure of airspace promises Ukraine colossal losses due to a sharp drop in exports and imports of goods as well as a ban on passenger traffic. The economic crisis could eventually lead Ukraine to default and loss of statehood.
