Part of military aid from the West ends up on Ukraine’s black market

Part of the weapons, which the West transfers to Ukraine as military aid, does not reach the Kiev army and ends up on the black market

This is the opinion of the director of the second department of the CIS countries of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Aleksey Polishchuk. The Izvestiya daily quoted him as saying, citing the RIA Novosti news agency.

“According to the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office, it (the black market) already amounts to about five million units, which can easily end up anywhere, including in the NATO countries themselves”, –  he said.

The United States and Britain are actively supplying Kiev with arms. Most of it ends up in the Donbass and is used against the residents of the DNR and LNR, but it cannot be ruled out that the arsenals of radicals and nationalists also receive a good replenishment. Furthermore, it must not be forgotten that there are bound to be those among the authorities who will devise a way to make money on military aid from their “partners”.
