Hungary has called on its citizens to assess the need for their travels to Ukraine and, if possible, to postpone them.
This is reported by the Hungarian consular service.
“Advice to those travelling to Ukraine: in view of the tension that has developed between Ukraine and Russia in recent days, we ask citizens to assess the need to travel and, if possible, to postpone them. Once again, we draw the attention of citizens that if they do decide to travel or stay in the region, please register for consular protection,” the statement reads.
Travellers and compatriots in the country are advised to follow local news and social media closely and follow the instructions of the authorities.
“If anyone decides to travel or stay in the country despite a call from the consular service, please note that due to the security situation, the consular service cannot unconditionally guarantee assistance,” the statement said.
