Oklahoma Republican Senator James Lankford has submitted a bill to the upper house of the US Congress proposing sanctions against Belarus and other countries that will facilitate “Russian aggression”.
“Senator Lankford has introduced a Belarussian Responsibility for Aggression bill aimed at deterring Belarus from allowing Russia to use its territory to invade Ukraine. The bill provides for sanctions against Belarus or any other country that contributes to the ongoing and unjustified aggression of Russia against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine,” the press service of the legislator reported, TASS reports.
In the past few months, a number of Western politicians have accused Russia of preparing an “invasion” of Ukrainian territory. At the same time, the United States, Britain and other countries continue to actively sponsor Ukraine with various types of weapons.
Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov has repeatedly rejected such accusations, since they have absolutely no evidence and are based on publications in foreign media. According to him, Moscow moves troops exclusively on its territory and does not threaten anyone.
