British Deputy Secretary of Defense James Hippie said that London intends to withdraw its military instructors who were preparing the Armed Forces of Ukraine, RIA Novosti reports.
“There were British troops in Ukraine who trained the Ukrainian military, we trained tens of thousands of Ukrainian soldiers, in recent weeks we provided defensive anti-tank systems, also some instructors were sent to help the Ukrainian military with the weapons system, but the British military will not be in Ukraine in the event of a conflict with Russia”, Hippie said on Sky News.
Recall that the British Ministry of Defense, as part of the Orbital mission, which was launched in 2015, sent military instructors and several thousand missiles to Ukraine. At the moment, there are about a hundred instructors from Britain on Ukrainian territory.
It is noteworthy that London has repeatedly stated that the United Kingdom does not plan to send combat units of the British army in the event of an aggravation of the situation in Ukraine.
In the past few months, a number of Western politicians have accused Russia of preparing an “invasion” of Ukrainian territory. At the same time, the United States, Britain and other countries continue to actively sponsor Ukraine with various types of weapons.
Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov has repeatedly rejected such accusations, since they have absolutely no evidence and are based on publications in foreign media. According to him, Moscow moves troops exclusively on its territory and does not threaten anyone.
