U.S. sent a group of F-15 fighters to Poland

The United States sent a group of F-15 Eagles fighters to Poland “to strengthen the collective defense of NATO,” the US Air Force Command in Europe said.

“The transfer of US fighters to the Lask air base in Poland is aimed at strengthening NATO’s collective defense capabilities and in support of the alliance’s air patrol mission,” the statement said.

It is noted that American F-15 Eagle fighters sent from the British Lossiemouth Air Base in Scotland will interact with Polish and Danish F-16 aircraft that carry out NATO patrol missions in the Baltic, operating from the Lithuanian air base in Siauliai.

The additional fighter jets will bolster the readiness and deterrence and defense of allies amid Russia’s military buildup near Ukraine According to the command, in addition to patrolling, American aircraft will work out actions against air and ground targets with allies in the region.

Earlier on Thursday, the US Air Force Command in Europe reported that a group of B-52H strategic bombers capable of carrying nuclear weapons had arrived at Fairford Air Force Base in the UK.

According to Western aviation resources, four such bombers were deployed to England.
