The AFU is experiencing problems with the Turkish Bayraktar due to poor infrastructure

The Ukrainian military is experiencing problems with the operation of Turkish drones due to the lack of suitable airstrips, said military analyst, chairman of the board of the Ukrainian Military Center Taras Chmut

In his opinion, runways are a problem for Ukrainian aviation in general.

“This is a problem we live with and we have to solve in any case, except one – if we give up aviation”, –  he said.

For example, only large airfields used by civil aviation are suitable for Akinci’s heavy Turkish drones, with military airfields only “theoretically” suitable for them, not in practice.

“With the Bayraktar, which are lighter than the Akinci, we have had problems with struts. There is a notion of take-off and landing life, and if you need to change struts every three take-offs and landings, that’s such a story, not a good one”, –  Chmut revealed.

The military analyst thinks that Ukraine needs to “do something” with the runways at its airfields because the existing ones are not suitable in this case
