Putin urged NATO not to drag Ukraine into the bloc and avoid a global conflict

The North Atlantic Alliance must abandon the idea of drawing Ukraine into its membership. If NATO suddenly decides to help “return” Crimea, then it will end in a war without winners.

This was stated by Russian leader Vladimir Putin, according to RIA Novosti. In the event of a conflict, the whole of Europe will be drawn into it. Instead of saber-rattling, compromises must be sought.

“I want to emphasize this again, I said, but I really would like you to finally hear me and convey this to your readers, viewers and users on the Internet. Well, you understand or not that if Ukraine joins NATO and takes back Crimea by military means, European countries will automatically be drawn into a military conflict with Russia,” the Russian president said.

At a press conference after a meeting with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, he stressed that the potential of NATO and Russia is incomparable. In addition, we must not forget that the Russian Federation is one of the leading nuclear powers in the world.

Putin once again drew attention to the fact that his state does not want a conflict to break out in Europe or somewhere else, which will lead to a global crisis with millions of victims. For his part, he promised to do everything possible to find a compromise and achieve security in Europe and the world.
